Welcome to SWOBDA.
The Southwestern Oklahoma Band Directors Association was first formed in 1966. The goal was to promote music education in Oklahoma and to give lifetime experiences for students through music performance. It has been a source of pride for many students who have been selected to perform with the honor groups throughout the years. Approximately 1200 students, grades 7–12, from 57 schools in the 17 southwest Oklahoma counties audition every year for a spot in one of the five district honor bands. Auditions are held in conjunction with the OMEA first-round auditions every November. The clinic is held in early February with guest clinicians from all over the United States.
